Leaving an immediate threat environment does not mean the crisis is over for a human trafficking survivor. This session dives into the "Paradox of Arriving," exploring how adrenaline depletion and unnavigated trauma often surface only after physical safety is assured. Attendees will learn to transition from traditional trauma-informed care to actionable, trauma-responsive approaches that view survivors as complex human beings rather than mere case files or "perfect victims." The session will also critically examine the hidden dangers of re-exploitation—such as financial instability, coercive public speaking demands, and re-traumatization—equipping multidisciplinary teams with the tools needed to foster authentic survivor inclusion and support non-linear healing.
